sprayed citrus - Decis
sprayed apple, pomegranate, cashew for hormigas
mixed trichoderma
added urine to Aquaponic growbeds - too much rain has diluted the nutrient level of the Fish Tank (tested fertility with RapiTest meter) Will add compost tea to FT.
Fish are healthy and getting big, but it is hard to see the bottom of the tank, still. I have a bucket of foam filtering the return water. It removed a lot of the red rock dust that was clouding up the water.
Tomato pin worms have severely damaged the Celebrity in the AP bed, but it is still alive and producing, so maybe I got it under control with DE and pepper spray.
Cukes have croaked! Aphids and ants, but I killed the plant by applying too much DE (every day for a week) and it just desicated the leaves. Got 3 nice cukes, though. Problem seems to be the lack of protection from the rain during the wet season. The plants don't need extra water and it collects in the beds, diluting the FT when they drain. Also, the daily rain, somtimes torrential, keep the |Grow Beds damp on top, which should be dry. Got rid of the aphid-farming ants by sprinkling boric acid mixed with powdered sugar (1 part acid to 9 parts sugar)
I am impatient for the Fish to grow enough to produce adequate nutrients. The plants are not doing as well as when I was just adding urine to cycle the tank before adding the fish. I think the dry season will be better - less humidity related problems. Meanwhile, supplementing nutrients with compost tea, urine, chelated iron. Today I prepared a dilution of humurine directly to grow bed plants around plants. Checking ammonia levels.
